Hackett - Live archive 83
The latest addition to Steve's popular 'Live Archive Series'!
Take a step back to 1983 when Hackett goes on the road without electronics for the first time and presents the original 'unplugged' concert.
Features Steve on guitar and John Hackett on flute.
This was the very first Steve Hackett acoustic tour, and the prototype setlist includes many tunes which were to become acoustic show favourites in following years.
Live rarities include ‘Concert For Munich’ & ‘A Cradle Of Swans’ Also performed is ‘The Water Wheel’ - a study for a piece which has not yet emerged.
The CD largely consists of an incomplete bootleg recording of the show on 4th November 1983 at Edinburgh’s Queens Hall. The ‘missing’ pieces are reinstated in the form of recordings from the show later that month at Swansea University.
Every care has been taken in transferring the audio, however the original tapes were of dubious origin and some allowance may have to be made for an occasional trace of distortion and hiss. The magic here is in the spirit of the performances
