Kovács Ferenc
He was born on 16th July 1957 in Budapest.
He graduated from the Liszt Ferenc Music- and Singing Teachers' College. He took his teachers' degree in singing-solfeggio-trumpet.
At the outset he worked as the first trumpeter of the Symphony Orchestra of the Hungarian Post, then he played in the dance group of Népszínház (Folks' Theatre).
During his career he has participated in the activities of several contemporary creative workshops. He worked together with the '180 Group' and in György Szabados' band, MAKUZ. He was the founding member of the Budapest Ragtime Band, and worked with them 15 years long. At the moment he is a significant member of Mihály Dresh's quartet.
Since 1994 he has been the member of the Balogh Kálmán Gipsy Cymbalom Band and the Romano Kokalo. As a solo violinist he played in many pieces of Péter Gerzson Kovács' band TRANZ DANZ. In 2001 he became influental solist of Djabe.
